Mike was inducted into the BELL AWARDS AUSTRALIAN JAZZ HALL OF FAME by deputy Prime Minister Julia Gillard at a ceremony on April 23rd at Melbourne's EDGE Theatre.Click Here:<a href=">www.bellawards.org

His 20 minute four-hand piano composition SOUTHERN SUITE, was premiered by top New Zealand pianists Michael Houstoun & Diedre Irons May 3rd at NZ's FestivalofColour with later performances at the Christchurch Arts Center's Great Hall and Kerikeri Arts Centre.

Pianist MICHAEL HOUSTOUN'S new CD INLAND ( Rattle Records NZ ) featuring 12 of Mike's compositions, recently won NEW ZEALAND CLASSICAL RECORDING OF THE YEAR.

Sunday June 14th, his composition Fictional Realities will be performed by the APOLLO TRIO, broadcast by ABC LIVE from the Sydney Conservatorium's Verbrugghen Hall.
In July pianist Simon Tedeschi recorded three of Mike's pieces for an upcoming ABC classics CD.

Mike's latest CD release is the MIKE NOCK TRIO play the Compositions of Andrew Klippel 1980-1983 ( AKP0001 dist by MGM )

Jazzgroove Mothership Orchestra 'Plays the Music of Mike Nock'
A CD of his music "The Mothership Plays the Music of MIKE NOCK" was released in Feb 06 "Six different arrangers have used the band's power occasionally and tellingly, more often looking for beautiful voicings and textures. The battery of soloists includes guitarist James Muller, trumpeter Phil Slater, pianist Sean Wayland and a brilliant guest appearance from Nock himself."

BETWEEN OR BEYOND - The Mike Nock Underground - a classic recorded in 1970 at the legendary MPS Studio Villingen in Germany's Black Forest with the FOURTH WAY rhythm section ( Eddie Marshall drums, Ron McClure electric bass, Mike Nock piano and electric piano ) has recently been released on CD for the first time. The Nov 2005 issue of DOWN BEAT reviewing the Melbourne/Umbria Festival wrote - "But the revelations were the Australians - in particular Paul Grabowsky and Mike Nock - Pianist Nock, a Sydney-based maestro, delivered two appealing sets at the Forum Theatre: one with his eclectic Big Small Band ( a Hal Russell meets Carla Bley nonet ) and the other with his equally unpredictable trio. Both groups exhibited strong arrangements, a mix of groove/dissonance and lyricism/avant-out, and a fair amount of humor and surprise inherent in the twists and turns. There's a glint to Nock's playing and a buoyancy in his leadership, especially with the nonet, which featured a fine young cast of improvisers."
