Sandy has a substantial body of work as a composer. Her work encompasses
jazz, world music and experimental music. She has been commissioned by many
of the ensembles to write music. Her compositions include works for
  • saxophone trio (with bass and drums),
  • jazz quintet
  • 8 piece band (sax, trom, 2 guitars, bass, drums, percussion)
  • 10 piece band (4 saxes, 2 trumpets, trombone, piano, bass, drums)
  • big band
  • jazz vocalists
  • Bulgarian style womens' choir
  • saxophone quartet
  • koto

Sandy has written music for dance, theatre and film. She has composed for the contemporary classical music ensemble, The Seymour Group.

Sandy is interested in cross artform and inter-disciplinary collaborations. In 2003 she composed the music for the opening ceremony of the International Astronomy Union in association with photographer/astronomer David Malin.
