Sandy is an experienced teacher of saxophone, improvisation, composition
and arranging.
She has 25 years experience teaching private students and is a
saxophone teacher for the University of New South Wales and Sydney
Grammar School. She has conducted saxophone and improvisation workshops
at The Canberra School of Music, The Queensland Conservatorium,
the University of Western Sydney, New South Wales University, Sydney
University and the Victorian College of the Arts. She was artist
in residence for the jazz department at the University of Western
Australia in 1999. She ran a jazz improvisation workshop for the
South Australian jazz co-ordination program in the same year.
She has performed extensively for the 'Musica Viva In Schools'
program with MARA! and The Umbrellas
and conducted workshops for them in high schools.
Sandy is a supporting mentor for The Jazz Mentorship Program initiated
by Paul McNamara and Sally Corbett.
Sandy is available for private tuition and to conduct improvisation
and saxophone workshops.
