TeachingSteve has been teaching for nearly thirty years, in Australia, Germany, Greece and the USA. His teaching methods have been featured in many publications and he has published a Jazz Guitar Improvisation tutorial workbook 'Smart Moves', with another tutorial manual on the way sometime in the near future. Steve's extensive teaching experience has seen him working with some of the most important names in guitar education. The list includes the Guitar institute of Technology in the USA, the Bruce Clark studios and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music–where he followed George Golla as head of Jazz Guitar. His time in Germany saw Steve teaching privately and at the Munich International Institute of Music, the Conservatorium at Weimar University and summer workshops and clinics at Hannover. In Australia, Steve also developed and implemented the jazz course at Wollongong University–with legendary violinist, Don Harper–and subsequently became Head of Jazz Guitar there. Steve says of his teaching: "I give a very clear message to the students and set goals for them each week. I teach what I know they can use in improvisation. I don't waste their time. I am an experienced teacher and musician and can see students weaknesses; quickly developiong tasks and exercises to improve their playing. I am a active player, and students benefit from my experience with a variety of styles and situations." Steve has been teaching and lecturing at the Australian Institute of Music in Australia for 3 years. He had a one year stint in 2004 lecturing at the prestigious Guitar Institute in London.
