"It was a warm night at the Worms jazz festival in Germany when an audience of 2,000 strong waited in hushed silence as a motly assortment of Australian musicians took to the stage under the stars. As the didgeridoo bellowed forth across the city accompanied by mesmerising melodies and incantations, they erupted into a spontaneous applause that set the mood for the whole evening. Nobody had heard a group like this before, and were all desperate to by albums... but none existed at that time...

...This album was sponsored by the Australia Council as part of a two year fellowship awarded to Dale Barlow to assist in further developing this unique musical concept. There are two different bands on the recording. Half the material was recorded at 'Electric Avenue Studios' in Annandale, Sydney with the group that toured South Africa. The other half was recorded while on tour in Taiwan at 'Relax Jazz Station' after they had been performing together every day for two weeks..."
