'Changing Seasons' CD |
|
Since returning to Australia in 1985, after 25 years in the
USA performing with many of the world's top musicians, Mike Nock
has become recognised as one of the greats of Australian Jazz. |
 |
His emphasis on introducing worthy younger talents to a wider audience,
plus his ongoing committment to innovation and excellence, expressed
through the various groups he has lead since his return, have contributed
largely to this recognition.
|
The current Mike Nock Trio has been working together as a
unit for the past two years and features a broad repertoire, including
a large selection of Jazz standards along with their original material.
Although the trio as a unit dates back two years the members have
been playing together in different combinations with Mike for much
longer than this, drummer Toby
Hall first playing with Mike's Quartet in 1990 (touring
Canada with him in 1991) and bassist Brett
Hirst joining the quartet in 1999 for a New Zealand tour.
Their debut CD "Changing Seasons", is planned for release in November
2002, on the DIW (Japan) label.
